Prepare yourself for and& Festival 2021
THE BASICS
Choose your preferred ticket type here and proceed to payment.
Now that you own your PRO or PRO+ ticket, it is important to register your account through the link on your ticket.
Almost there! Follow all steps to complete your account.
Great! This account will now grant you access to the and& live platform.
Once you're on the platform, take the tour! It will guide you through the most important features, and familiarise you with the different ins and outs of and& connect. When you get the hang of it you can start scheduling your favourite talks.
PRACTICAL TIPS TO PREPARE YOURSELF
Although and& connect works across all platforms, use the Chrome browser if you can.
Make sure you have a laptop/computer with a webcam, good sound quality, and a proper microphone. If not, some good earphones or headsets will do just as well.
Find a spot in your home where you have a reliable internet connection. This is usually near your router. If at all possible, plug in directly to your internet using an ethernet cable. Also try not to have too many people hogging the internet and close all non-essential apps that use WiFi. This will allow the platform to run more smoothly.
Plan ahead! A lot of things are happening at and&. Find your favourite speakers and put them on your calendar. Although the talks are recorded, you don’t want to miss out on asking live questions.
Once you have access, highlight your topics of interest on the platform. That way we can present you with personally curated content you’ll like.
Treat this digital conference as you would an in-person conference with respect to your calendar and task load. Prioritise the time to be truly present in the experience, engage with the sessions and presenters, and use the chat and other networking tools regularly to connect with other attendees.
Don’t hesitate to form a circle with your friends or colleagues to watch keynotes together, chat, and talk to each other in real-time. It’ll make the festival into a group activity!
Want to look at your best? Position your webcam at or slightly above eye level, and avoid backlighting when possible. Natural light is your best friend. Avoid strong lamps, they cast unflattering shadows.
Missed a talk? Or couldn’t decide on a single one? Not to worry, talks will remain available up to three months after the festival.
Last but not least, ENJOY!
