Leen Gorissen

What’s the largest R&D project in history? A clue: through billions of field tests it’s led to unmatched efficiency, effectiveness, adaptability, resilience and endurance. The answer? Nature.

At and&, Leen Gorissen will be introducing us to breakthrough insights from the life sciences and how these can revolutionize the way we look at change and innovation. She will share some of the most advanced thinking in bio-inspired innovation – covering disciplines like biomimicry, biophilia, permaculture, living systems thinking, nature-based solutions and regenerative design. This “Natural Intelligence” is a whole new way of looking at innovation, organization, development and design.

Gorissen has a Ph.D. in Biology and is founder of Centre4NI, which specializes in ecology, transition science, regenerative design and bio-inspired innovation. From 2009 to 2017 she worked for the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO Belgium) where she headed projects on sustainable forest management, circular economy and urban sustainability transitions. As an innovation biologist and transition process facilitator at Centre4NI, Gorissen helps organizations and businesses to innovate like nature.

If you want to learn how natural intelligence might inspire you to rethink the way we do business and plan for the future, then Gorissen’s talk at and& is unmissable.
