Isabelle Putseys

With a background in architecture and urbanism, Isabelle Putseys is an urban design expert in health & climate in urbanized environments.

The increasing complexity of future urban challenges aroused her interest in multi- and trans-disciplinary approaches in projects. These led to Putseys conducting research into the integration of urban design and water engineering. As a practitioner in urban planning, her work links urban health, climate change strategies and circularity.

Having worked at several levels in the public sector (Eurometropolis, Flemish community as well as municipal levels) and different universities as a research fellow, she joined in public debates and supported administrations in their search for climate adaptation.

Currently, Putseys is playing a key role in the Sweco Group’s cross-border knowledge initiative, Urban Insight. As expert leader for 2021 she’s gathering experts to foster the program of Urban Health & Wellbeing.
