Tomas Keppens

Tomas Keppens is founder of intuEdrive, a Belgian company looking closely at the future of e-mobility. As a child, he dreamed of starting his own car brand. A few wheels were lost along the way, but today he is living that dream with intuEdrive.

Keppens worked as a sound and vibration engineer at Toyota when he came up with the idea in 2011 to use the drive technology of a car in speed pedelecs. He reasoned that by using car technology, E-bikes will become more reliable, safer and easier to use. In this way they will appeal to more people and will also get more cars off the road. Ecology has always been a strong motivation for Keppens. To speed up his project, he collaborated with various Flemish universities.
