Silvio Ghyoot

Silvio Ghyoot is CEO of Black Bear Carbon. In this role, he leads BBC’s efforts to roll out its leading technology for upcycling waste tire rubber into circular and sustainable products and grow the company to become a global leader for recovered carbon black.

Ghyoot has held many international management positions in the petrochemical industry. Before joining BBC in 2019, he served as Executive Director of Petrochemicals Europe, an industry sector of CEFIC, the European Chemical Industry Council.

Prior to that he was President of Albemarle Corporation’s Catalyst business. During his 19 years at Albemarle he held numerous commercial and management positions in the plastics additive & flame retardants business as well as in plastics and oil refining catalysts.

Ghyoot has extensive experience in restructuring and building organizations, along with a proven track record in growing businesses and improving efficiency and productivity. In other words, he’ll give you plenty of takeaways from his talk at and& Leuven.
